How to prepare for a move
Proper preparation will make your move easier and quicker. Here are some tips, that will help you save time and money.
- Donate / Dispose unwanted items
- Minimize the number of loose items / odds and ends by packing them in boxes, bins or totes
- Pack as much as you can in boxes, totes or containers
- Avoid packing too many small boxes
- Use mostly medium and larger boxes
- Pack heavier items in smaller boxes and lighter items in larger boxes
- Make sure boxes are properly taped, not folded
- Do not pack boxes half full / Always pack them full
- Do not over pack boxes very heavy
- Label your boxes on top and sides
- Disassemble your bed(s) / dining table (if possible)
- Make sure all the electronics are disconnected
- Move smaller items / boxes / yourself (if possible)
- Reserve parking space for the truck (whenever possible)
- Have an elevator reserved for moving
- Please make sure your outdoors items are clean
When booking a move
Details are very important when booking a move. It helps us accurately estimate the move, determine right size truck and number of movers needed to relocate you in most efficient way. Please be sure to mention the following:
- Approximate drive time from A to B
- Elevator / No Elevator
- Long Hallways
- Long Pathways
- Active Construction Site
- Steep Driveway
- Heavy, Awkward Items
- Suggest where to park, if there is a loading bay/zone, front entrance or back
What we don’t move
We are not be able to move the following items:
- Pianos
- Large Safes
- Gas powered tools (unless emptied)
- Paint, chemicals, flammables, explosives
